VINTAGE REVIEWS

Vintage: 2005
Region: Burgundy
Review:

2005 has already been declared the best Red Burgundy vintage in more than 25 years, and it is not bad for whites either. The weather conditions were perfect! Rain, sun, temperature and timing all coordinated with low yields in a perfect rhythm to create a classic  symphony of lush, fleshy, silky and opulent Pinot Noir, everywhere in Burgundy.

Here is the bad news. The yields were relatively modest, the dollar is 20% weaker than last year and the world-wide demand for this vintage is off the charts. In short, 2005 red and white Burgundy will be scarce and expensive. Most of the 2005 vintage will be purchased before it ever sees the retailer's shelf.  Burgundy lovers, and treasure seekers alike will see that this vintage disapears  quickly into their private cellars.

The good news is for those who acted early they will enjoy one of the truly great vintages of  Pinot Noir that only Burgundy can offer..
